Our Live and On Demand Masterclasses, Resource sheets and Fitness sessions teach the necessary information to ensure that you are Adventure Ready – for wherever you want to go. Our global online community, complete with our Zoom Active Walks & Fitness Sessions keep you connected to like minded women the world over and ensure that you never have to worry about finding a walking buddy again – there’s always someone to chat to.
It’s actually lovely to know that wherever you live or whatever your time constraint, or fitness level, there’s something inside the community that you can access that will move you a step closer to your adventure goal.
What does new your Adventure Ready for Hiking course include?
Our Adventure Ready for Hiking (AR4H) course is an online interactive hike training course designed for women 50 + who want to successfully complete multi day hiking adventures.
This live, online course will teach and train participants over 12 weeks so that they master the fitness skills, knowledge and mindset required to successfully complete multi day hiking adventures.
Topics covered include:
- Turning Dreams into Reality – how to create your own adventure,
- Mindset, Motivation & Success – how to enjoy the journey as much as the destination,
- Your hiking fitness & Skills – creating a training plan to ensure you are Adventure Ready,
- Choosing and Using Gear & Equipment – Buy and Take only what you need.
The first course is due to start in June 2022 and we are currently taking a waitlist.
Tell us about your Couch2Mountain Journey.
Based on our combined experience of decades of fitness, hiking and women’s health, we’ve developed the Couch2Mountain Journey – the hiking program that will take you from wherever you are now to the roof of Australia – Mt Kosciusko – this November
An interactive program that offers new hikers all the support, accountability and skills they need to be Adventure Ready and reach the summit of Australia’s highest peak
A journey that lets you be involved in wherever you live, because the training, teaching and accountability is within YOU.
A program that encourages, supports and motivates you at each and every step.
- Where it’s ok if you don’t know how to do something. You will be encouraged to learn through doing, with the encouragement of other women just like you, as well as the support of our experienced Women’s Fitness Adventures Leaders.
- Where it’s ok to feel out of your comfort zone, because you have never done this before. You will always feel safe!
- Where along the way you will learn exactly what you need to do to successfully complete your first multi day hiking adventure, without needing to purchase any unnecessary equipment or fancy gear.
- And a program that can be done in your own environment, at times that fit with your schedule. All of course, with accountability along the way.
This program is called Couch2Mountain and will literally will take you from the couch (or whatever your starting position) to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko – Australia’s highest peak this November.
The program starts this May and there are two places remaining.
What has been the impact of your 100km Adventure Ready challenge?
It’s been 8 years since Women’s Fitness Adventures started and in that time we’ve taught, trained and taken women on many hiking adventures all over the world. And the transformations are amazing.
One of the most Frequently Asked Questions we get is “How do I step up my fitness, hiking and skills so that I can hike longer distances and more consecutive days AND still enjoy it?”
And it is a big step – literally and physically, to go from a 3/4 day hike to 8 days or more.
That’s why we developed the 100km Adventure Ready Hiking Challenge. It’s a hybrid program consisting of six months online training, teaching and support and ends with a 100km Multi Day adventure in Western Australia in March 2023.
This interactive program offers hikers the opportunity to step up their hiking to the next level, to achieve a multi day hike of 100km in a structured and supported way.
Over six months the program teaches the hiking fitness, skills and knowledge needed to ensure participants are Adventure Ready and can successfully complete a 100km multi day hike. Additionally the program provides ongoing support and accountability.
This challenge lets you be involved in wherever you live as it is delivered online.
Applications for the 100km Adventure Ready program will open in June and the program will commence in August.
