Women in Insurance

Women in the Insurance Industry

Women have made great strides in achieving equality in the insurance industry, but still face significant challenges.

In Australia, the finance and insurance sector has the largest pay gap in the nation according to Workplace Gender Equality Agency data. There are few women in senior leadership positions, and those in full time employment are earning between 26%-33% less than men in similar roles.

I want to inspire women to take up the challenge in the insurance industry and aim for those higher roles, and even to go out on their own and start their own business. To achieve this goal, I have taken up a committee member position with the “IA women in business” group in my network, Insurance Advisernet. Our purpose is to empower women to reach outside their comfort zone and consider the possibilities, with the goal of closing the gender gap within our group.

As a mother myself, I strongly identify with Jade and Alanna’s mission to make the world better for their children through empowering women. I am excited to be a Femeconomy member and thankful for the opportunity to connect with like-minded and successful business women.

By affiliating myself and my business with Femeconomy I hope to get my message out and show women that it is possible for anybody to succeed if you’re willing to put in the effort.
