Supporting Women Owned Business: Carol Grimshaw

Femeconomy’s Supporting Women Owned Business mini-blog series is intended to amplify how women led and women owned businesses are supporting each other, and to encourage more businesses to include women led and women owned businesses in their purchasing decisions.

Grimshaw Legal provides decidedly different business and personal legal advice tailored to ensuring client protection from the every day and the unexpected.

Which women owned and women led businesses do you buy from?

I have bought from Amanda Radovic who is responsible for the image of me above. I have recently been delighted to partner with Janine Lum of European Women in Business which pairs Melbourne businesswomen with fabulously exclusive events to develop networks, friendships and learn a few things as we go. Due to COVID lockdowns, I’m yet to and can’t wait to meet the team and members of Ballarat Businesswomen. As a recent arrival in Ballarat, I think it will be fabulous to meet and connect with some local leaders and perhaps have the opportunity to assist them to thrive into the new normal while being prepared for whatever Delta can throw our way.

I have engaged female owned and led, Forty Four Degrees Lawyers & Associates for legal work, and use female managed Zucci salons with the principal stylist Shakira being the manager and my stylist, and of course when we used to get manicures and attend spas, I recommend Miss Fox female founded and managed. My bookkeeper Morton Bookkeeping is female founded and operated.

My team for EWOWC are predominantly female, and my team for The Dear Sir(s) Project is all female.

Who are your customers?

My clients are a mix of small business owners, family members, and women taking steps to secure their futures through contingency planning for business, and estates’ planning for their personal lives. I’m honoured to help them work through their wishes and record them in digital friendly ways that allows them to overcome the barriers to meeting with a lawyer during lockdowns.
