Darcy day one

Gender Equality – International Day of the Girl, Letter to my daughter Darcy

We would like to recognise our daughters on this International Day of the Girl Child.

Dear Darcy,

As a four-year old you are empathetic, confident, fun, funny and inquisitive. I hope these traits stay with you as you take the path from girl to woman. I like the idea that happiness is having someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to. I wonder how these three elements of completeness will manifest and evolve throughout your life?

I want you to be aware how lucky you are. For some people on our planet, drinking clean water from a kitchen tap is a luxury. So be grateful, gracious and extend a helping hand to others.

When you entered my life, you made me a better person. Don’t ever forget you are my sunshine – bright, loud and warm.

Love Mum xx

To celebrate International Day of the Girl, we invite you to share a letter to your daughter. Let’s take five to tell them we love them and our hopes for their future.
