Femeconomy Retail Gender Equality Progress Report June 2017

In early June, I once again disappeared for a week to update our 2000 strong brand research set. A painstaking, yet informative six-monthly process of reviewing each record against our criteria, re-researching each brand’s leadership composition, and amending our website directory to reflect any changes. Good news? 800 brands now meet our criteria. When we started Femeconomy it was just over 700.

We believe it is critical to communicate and celebrate the positive progress that companies are making towards gender equality. Unfortunately there were also a few who lost ground and slid backwards. Most changes result from Board composition changes and company acquisitions or divestments. So, here is our June 2017 Retail Gender Equality Progress Report to help you decide which brands to shop with.

FEMEFemeconomy's thumbs up symbolCONOMY APPROVED MEANS

Brands have at least 30% of women on the Board of Directors or are 50% female owned. The Femeconomy Badge shows you which brands meet this criteria and have our approval.
